Christmas with our Eritrean friends!

My dear friend Karen has adopted a refugee family from Eritrea and we have loved spending time with them. They do not speak English, and it is quite fun to spend a few hours not really talking all that much and seeing how you deal with it. You have to get really creative like playing Uno, showing pictures, and pointing. The kids have zero trouble; they just play! I love that. We were able to share a weekend before Christmas with them and share our life with them. It was truly one of the most wonderful ways we were touched this Christmas. In the middle of eating injera and "pork", which we realized they don't eat (whoops!), Andrew looks at the father and says, "Hey, I have seen you in Ethiopia before." Classic.... Andrew just giggled.
